My questions is whether this is normal or not… Am I destroying my pads with a foam reconditioning brush? Should I toss my pads away and buy new ones? I saw Mike Philip’s http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/…sher-cart.html thread and it seems that the pads he was using looked perfectly brand new after washing it with the GG universal pad washer.

Any input and advice would be appreciated! Thanks for your help!

I recently had the opportunity to try this stuff on a boat. And no…I don’t have pictures unfortunately. Been a little too busy to play photographer lately.

Anyways…I’ve been looking for a product to pre-clean boats and RVs. I heard some good things about this stuff…so I decided to buy some and try it out.

I must say, that it worked better than expected. I like to use it for the uncoated areas of fiberglass. Like the hull, and up top around the edges, or inside the boat. It did a great job at removing the water line, and yellow staining underneath the boat. I was psyched to see it clean up the underneath so nicely cause it’s always a pain to clean up.

If you do boats…you really should try this stuff out.

I found it odd that it smells identical to Windex though. Makes me wonder if I could do the same thing with Windex, ha.

has anyone had it applied over a long period of time? Does it really last forever like it says without needing to wax? How does that work?

There is a place by me called Ziebart that offers a product called "diamond gloss" and they say you’ll never have to wax your car again and my parents bought it for 3 of their cars. let me tell you, it is the worst thing ever. Yeah the car looks great after, but all cars looked horrible after time of not maintaing them that I needed to properly detail them. Its just this experience that makes me skeptical on the whole never having to wax again. I know I can always trust AG products to live up to what they say but if this product has been around long enough to be tested like this, whats the durability on this and what is necessary to maintain a car with this product applied?

Hello, I have a 2001 Mastercraft X-30 in red/white that I’m trying to clean up a bit. I’ve detailed a few cars with great results; but I’m having trouble getting a clear finish looking through the reflection at my work lights.

Round one I tried to use Collinite #920 with gray/white CCS 5.5in pads on a PC 7424. I was unable to get a clear finish on either pad, even after trying wax on top. It did remove the swirls/water spots well though. Straight on it appears clear enough, but looking at the reflection shows the gelcoat isn’t quite clear still. It appears ‘hazy’, almost like a really really fine wetsand.

Yesterday I tried to use Meguiars #45 high gloss polish with a blue pad, but ended up with the same result.

Am I still attacking this too hard, or am I expecting too much from gelcoat? Is my pad not lubed enough? I thought about purchasing microfiber bonnets and trying those. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
